Katie is a compassionate and collaborative therapist who brings meaningful experience with children, youth, and families. Katie is skilled in navigating complex issues including trauma, family conflict and attachment issues. She has worked with a broad range of clients often presenting with multiple diagnoses and challenges, including anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, disordered eating, and family disruption, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Mild Intellectual Disability (MID), and Learning Disabilities (LD). Katie’s approach to therapy is integrative, incorporating evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy. Katie is strongly influenced by psychodynamic and humanistic theories and is informed by an anti-oppressive and family systems lens. She additionally draws from more than 20 years as a professional performing artist to enrich and broaden her therapeutic approach. Katie holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in children and families.
