How do our Psychoeducational Assessments work?
We book a 60-90 minute meeting with a Psychologist to get to know you & your child.
We complete testing with your child over two appointments.
We take a close look at your child’s brain activity using a QEEG Brain Map.
This is a bit like an interview, some of which your child is present for and some of which is 1:1 with parents or guardians.
The testing includes cognitive/intellectual, acheivement, attention and other specific tests based on your child’s presenting areas of concern. Questionnaires are also provided to you and teachers to complete so we can get a good understanding of your child’s strengths and weaknesses.
This painless, non-invasive procedure allows us to view your child’s brainwaves using sensors on a cap that are connected to a computer.
Once all the data from your child is collected and analyzed, a follow up appointment with one of our Psychologists will be scheduled within four to six weeks.
Results from the assessment will be reviewed, any diagnoses will be explained and recommendations will be made regarding school, learning opportunities and treatment options.
Pricing: $3500
Covered by most insurance plans.
A QEEG is a valuable component of the Psychoeducational Assessment and Toronto Neurofeedback and Psychotherapy Centre is the only clinic in Toronto to offer this service as part of our Psychoeducational Assessments.
